1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.e5 c5 4.c3 Nc6 5.Nf3 Qb6 6.Bd3 cxd4 7.cxd4 Bd7 8.Be2
I feel Be3 is better. I will be ahead of development and maybe have a nice attack. Fritz likes 0-0 or Nc3 for white instead of Be2

Fritz says Nge7 is better, heading for f5!

[9.Bd2 Nxd4 10.Bxb4 Nxf3+ 11.Bxf3 Qxb4+ wins me a pawn!]

9...a6 10.0-0 Na7
I think Bxc3 was a better move because of Nh4 will push me back. Fritz agrees with me and give white a pawn advantage!

11.a3 Bxc3 12.bxc3 Bb5
My goal for most of my French games are to trade off light square bishops because Whites light square bishop is Strong and Blacks light square bishop is weak.

I like this move by White but fritz said a4 or Bxb5 was much better, white is still better but only by a little.

13...Qc6 14.Bxb5 Nxb5 15.Bd2
From the Black side, I'm happy that the White dark square bishop is weak.

15...Rc8 16.Rac1
Fritz said Rfc1 but position is now equal. The reason is the battle is on the queenside so both rooks should be involved not just one.

16...Qc4 17.Qb4 Qxb4
I felt it was forced to take the White queen because it will be hard to chase off if it got to a5. [17...Ne7 18.Qa5 Nc6 19.Qb6 Nxa3 20.Ra1 Qb5 Fritz is not afraid of the White Queen.]

18.cxb4 Ne7 19.a4
I believe that Rxc8 is better follow by Rc1 is good for White

19...Na7 20.Bg5 h6
I got to play h6 which helps me defend the kingside from the knight. White should play Bxe2

21.Bh4 Kd7 22.Rc5
Don't think this is the right move unless he's trying to weaken my pawn. Don't know Whites plan and I feel Black is much stronger and should have a winning game.

Fritz: Nf5 is better

23.Rcc1 Rc6 24.b5 axb5 25.axb5 Rxc1 26.Rxc1 Rc8 27.Rb1
I looked at Nxb5 and I feel its too soon to grab a pawn.

27...Nf5 28.h3 Rc4 29.Bg3 Nxd4 30.Nxd4 Rxd4 31.f3 Kc7 32.Bh4
Tell me if I'm wrong but is Bishop to f2 better placed?

I was in time trouble and was blind! A free bishop, why didn't I take???

33.Be7 g6 34.Bd6+ Kb7 35.Kf2 d4
Faster and better is Ra4-a5-xb5

36.g4 Ra4 37.Ke2 Ra5 38.Kd3 Rxb5 39.Rxb5 Nxb5 40.Bf8 h5 41.Bb4 Kc6 42.Kc4 d3 43.Kxd3 Kd5 44.f4 hxg4 45.hxg4
I didn't take notation for the rest of the game because I was in time trouble. The game ending in a way like this.

45...Nc7 46.g5 b5 47.Be7 Na6 48.Kc3 b4+ 49.Kb3 Nc5+ 50.Kxb4 Nd3+ 51.Kc3 Nxf4 52.Bf6 Ke4 53.Kd2 Nd5 54.Bd8 Kxe5 55.Kd3 Nb4+ 56.Kc4 Nc6 57.Bf6+ Kf4 58.Kc5 Ne5 59.Kd6 Ng4 60.Bd8 e5 61.Kd5 e4 62.Kd4 e3 63.Kd3 Kf3 64.Ba5 e2 65.Kc4 Ne5+ 66.Kc5 Nd7+ 67.Kd4 Kf2 68.Kd5 e1Q 69.Bxe1+ Kxe1 70.Kd6 Ke2 71.Kxd7 Ke3 72.Ke7 Kf4 73.Kxf7 Kxg5 74.Kg7 Kf5 75.Kh6 g5 76.Kh5 Kf4 77.Kh6 g4 78.Kh5 g3
White Resigned! 0-1
